I don't know why I bother attempting to "upgrade" my computer any more. These "projects" always take:

  1. way longer than anticipated
  2. minor heart attacks along the way over fear of data loss
  3. did I mention they take way longer than anticipated?
The worst part is, I couldn't even figure out how to accomplish what I was trying to get done (go from FreeBSD 7.2 i386 to amd64). Sounds easy enough. Except when I've got a POS (not "Point of Sale") 3ware RAID controller (9500S) that just refused to initialize upon booting the AMD64 kernel. Yea that's not gonna work.

Ugh, so frustrating. Glad I wasted 2 days on it.
